Belohvoščiks wins the final stage of the Baltic Chain Tour! Overall victory goes for the third time to Ärm.

The final 170.5 km Tartu–Kuremaa–Tartu stage determined the tour’s overall standings. The stage win was claimed by Kristiāns Belohvoščiks, representing the Latvian national team, followed by Gert Kivistik (Peloton) and Markus Pajur (Estonian National Team).

At the first intermediate sprint in Kastre, the fastest was Kristiāns Belohvoščiks (Latvian National Team), ahead of Markus Pajur (Estonian National Team) and Oskar Nisu (Quick Pro Team) with a surprising burst attack. The second intermediate sprint in Kuremaa was won from the breakaway by Jorgensen Mads Schulz (Team Co: Play – Giant), followed by Lauri Tamm (Estonian National Team) and Josef Dirnbauer (Cycling Team Schwingshandl). At the third intermediate sprint in Laiuse, the breakaway riders arrived in the same order.

The overall victory of the tour was claimed by Rait Ärm of the Estonian National Team (11:26:45). Ärm also made history in the Baltic Chain Tour – a hat trick. No one had managed to win the Baltic Chain Tour three times in a row before. Belohvoščiks secured second place in the general classification (+00:47) and Lauri Tamm took third (+01:02).

“We had a very good day with the team today, I’m happy and very thankful that the others helped me win. I was a little worried when the breakaway group got away, but luckily we had Lauri Tamm there, who could have gone for the win. Still, we wanted to catch the breakaway, and fortunately, together with the Latvians and Lithuanians in the peloton, we made our own Baltic Chain to reel them in and fight for the victory,” said Ärm, crowned winner of the Baltic Chain Tour for the third consecutive time.

The white jersey for the best young rider went to national team rider Lauri Tamm. The green jersey for the most active rider and the red jersey for the most combative rider were claimed by stage winner Kristiāns Belohvoščiks. The Estonian National Team finished as the best team of the tour.
