Farewell, BCT triple winner Ants Väravas !

VäravasIt is with great sadness to inform that the only three-times Baltic Chain Tour winner (since its original roots from 1950-s), one of the Estonian cycling heroes, Mr. Ants Väravas has passed away. Born June 10th, 1937, Ants joined cycling world in 1952. He was the first substitute rider to Soviet Union olympic team in Tokyo 1964, 9th on 100 km team time trial world championships and pronze medalist on 1963 Peace Tour.
3 times Soviet Union champion, 26 times Estonian national champion. For many years Ants worked as head coach of Estonian national road cycling team and served as referee on numerous biking events. Fro 2007 onwards Ants Väravas held a honorary membership title in Estonian Cycling Federation.
